my doctor told me that cotton pjs lets the vagina "breathe" just like cotton undies bc cotton is a natural fiber...i dont wear pajamas tho so ive never really followed or not followed the advice...
Personal preference. I hate cotton too. Makes me "stick" to the sheets, and I roll around when I sleep.

As others have said, cotton is good to help certain parts to breathe. But for bedtime, I like short or knee length nighties and I "go commando". :)
I don't know, I used to love nylon nightgowns and they are silky feeling to the skin, but pajamas are a free moving feeling. On lazy days you can feel casual enough to go to the mail box or except a visitor or two without changing clothes. I have even noticed some will even go to the atm or the grocery store in pj bottoms and a t-shirt.
Cotton pajamas are great for multi-tasking. You can wear them to bed, to relax on the couch, or even to the grocery store in the middle of the night when someone needs medicine [or an important supply for a school project]. It's lower maintenance and often warmer.
Cotton is a natural fiber and breathes easier, which makes you sweat less and more comfortable; Nightgowns are more sexy; but typically when you go to bed you want to be comfortable which is why women tend to wear cotton pajamas to bed.
Cotton panties and clothes are better for the vagina to breathe and it needs to breathe inorder to be healthy. Less likely to get yeast infections and others infections if you let ur Vagg breathe.
Because nylon does now allow the skin to breathe and actually makes you sweat. Cotton "breathes" and feels cooler.

I think it is a personal preference - you will find most women don't wear anything to bed except maybe panties because they get all wrapped up around you and that's annoying, but to walk around in I noticed a lot of men prefer the feel of silky things over cotton. so wear whatever feels best for you!!!!
ya know, i just wear whats comfortable and if that means a big t-shirt and panties one night and flannel pants and a tank top the next so be it. I really don't worry about being cute at night. I don't know maybe thats just me.

Nylon nightgowns remind me of my great grandmother- I fear they increase the risk of static shock- I feel slippery in them- they bunch up while I sleep (I'm an active sleeper)- and lastly when I walk around in nightgowns I feel a draft.

I sleep with just panties, but I would guess that cotton is more breathable. And if you wear pajamas versus a nightgown you don't need a robe if you leave your room to do something like answer the front door, etc.

I prefer to sleep naked - but if I must wear something I choose cotton b/c its breathable, unrestricting, and soft. The silky gowns are nice around the house but I just get tangled in them while I sleep.
I wear a cotton cute little Victoria's secret night gown. Its super cute. Nylon doesn't breathe! I live in Socal so I either do a comfy night gown or I wear a wife beater and undies and that's it.

Nylon is really static and the nightgowns always ride up your body in the night. PJ's are a lot more comfortable and just as girly!
I don't have any nightgowns... I don't know why. I guess nightgowns feel like I'm getting all dressed up to go to bed or something lol

When it comes to sleeping, I'm not big on pj's with long legged pants. I prefer chemises most of the time, and long gowns in the winter. As for the cotton versus the rest, I've become hooked on cotton. Yes, nylon and satin feels nice, but the all around soft comfort of cotton can't be beat.
If you want pure luxury, choose silk. Years ago I had a black silk gown, with a red silk robe. The design was very simple, yet the sheen of the material and the depth of the colors made them absolutely beautiful. And talk about the ultimate in how it felt against my skin. Plus it was cool in the summer, but warm in the winter. At the time it was very expensive, and I had saved for months before finally buying myself this once in a lifetime treat. Every time I wore it, which was almost every night, I felt beautiful.
Cotton pj are totally comfortable. I love them. It seems like you're "dressing up" to wear something fancy just to sleep in. But, then, I'm kinda butch, so I might not be the person to ask.
